In part II of this post, we bring you 5 more tips designed to add a modern twist to your social media marketing that keeps your audience engaged and attracts even more visitors to your website.

1. Learn from Millennials

Millennials are a marketers dream with their addiction to the internet and strong buying habits. But since millennials are so clued up when it comes to internet usage, it’s vital that you can offer them what they need via a state-of-the-art website that’s fast, responsive and mobile optimised. Get familiar with millennials’ behaviours and expectations and offer them what they want through your updates, social media posts and customer support.

2. Engage with your audience

If you want to connect with current and potential customers it’s essential to engage with them, and the easiest way to do this is via social media. Ask them questions on Facebook to get conversations going. Add them to a Twitter list if they’re on Twitter. Reach out to leads via LinkedIn. Add them to a Google+ circle. Do everything in your power as a brand to engage with your audience and ensure that your brand is in their minds.

3. Increase your online reviews

Reviews are becoming increasingly influential in consumers’ buying decisions, which is why it’s essential that you ask your customers to leave reviews on your website or social media pages. If someone’s had a positive experience with your business, ask them to leave feedback and ALWAYS respond to that feedback with enthusiasm, gratitude and joy. Responding in this manner reflects very positively on your brand.

4. Venture into new social media territory

Yes, most brands have a presence on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, but have you considered venturing into new social media territory with platforms such as Periscope, Tumblr and Snapchat? Here you will find a huge percentage of millennials hanging out, which offers a superb opportunity to engage with your target audience in a fun and creative way whilst spreading the word about your latest products or services or sharing a story about your business.

5. Offer value added

If you want to remain in your customers’ memories for longer then we suggest you offer value added. This could involve anything from free downloads (such as eBooks), webinars, consultations and demonstrations. What’s great about this strategy is that you are offering immediate assistance with something your customers have already expressed an interest in.

As you can see there are countless ways to spice up our social media marketing strategy. Just one or two small tweaks can make the world of difference to your business and give it the opportunity to shine.

What techniques are you adopting to boost your brand's presence on social media?
