In today’s instalment of our 4-part series, we offer you tips and advice on how to use social media platforms to boost traffic to your website and expand your reach. Social networking has become a highly important way to gain a solid presence, so follow these tips to make a massive impact…
Set up a Facebook Page
Through Facebook, you can set up a page for your website or company. Whenever you write an article, share it on your Facebook page. You could also share company news and events on this page. Don’t just talk about your own business though – share related articles, images and inspirations from other websites to give your Facebook page an edge.
Use Pinterest
With more than 70 million followers, Pinterest is an excellent resource to post your high-quality images and link to your articles. Make sure you include the link to your blog post not only when uploading the image but also in your description box. This is something that many people fail to do but is an excellent way to gain more traffic to your site.
Post Content on Twitter
Twitter is a great way to instantly reach out to thousands or even millions of people. With Twitter, you need to create short Tweets of 140 characters or less (including the link). Use the URL shortening service, Bitly, to give you more space for your Tweet. Also, be sure to include hashtags and link to your Twitter feed (& other social media platforms) from your website.
Consider Instagram
Instagram is another popular social networking platform with a huge following. Take pictures related to your niche, using hashtags to promote your blog and link to your website. Through high-quality images and interesting captions you will gradually gain a large following which will organically increase your site’s traffic.
Don’t Ignore Google+
Google+ is a powerful social network service that is favoured by Google. With millions of followers it is a brilliant resource for posting content, joining conversations and gaining a larger following.
Which Platforms are Right for you?
There are plenty of other social media platforms including LinkedIn, Tumblr, Digg and Reddit. All of these platforms provide endless benefits for your business, including the ability to quickly and easily share content – which ultimately results in better traffic.
The social media platforms that you use largely depend on where your target market spends most of their time. While some clients are more likely to be on Twitter, others might be based on Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr.
