How to Create a Killer Facebook Ad

Love it or hate it, Facebook is arguably Number One in the world of social media. However for small businesses and brands, Facebook makes far too many changes to its algorithm, which limits a brand’s organic reach and can cause havoc on its social media marketing efforts.

The best way to tackle this is to make little investments to generate profits from the site.

If your posts don’t appear on a user’s Facebook feed, then they will not be seen by people. Unfortunately, only about 1-2% of Facebook page fans actually see your posts, while even fewer may actually engage with them.

To ensure that your posts get seen, it’s essential to:

Where does your audience spend their time when using Facebook? Use the Facebook search function to discover which pages your audience members like and engage with. To do this, simply type into Facebook’s search box ‘Pages liked by [insert business name or competitor] fans’, or ‘Pages liked by people who like [your business name or competitor]’, and a list of the pages, competitors and interests of your fans will appear before you. This information is absolutely valuable for accurate targeting when it comes to creating a Facebook Ad. 

3. Create your Facebook Ad

Facebook Ads are ideal in the sense that you can customise everything and control your call-to-action. In your ad you should promote your giveaway then link to an opt-in form or lead page. This will help to grow and build your email list.

Use a high-quality image to promote your ad. When choosing placement options for the ad, only place it in the news feed. Under the ‘interests’ section type in all of the pages your audience members like and engage with (as mentioned above). Then, target the ad to 175,000 to 1 million people.

4. Seal the deal with email

Once you’ve created your ad, gained sign ups or opt-ins and delivered your giveaway, it’s vital to follow up with emails. This keeps your brand in their minds well after the giveaway has taken place, and spurs people to take that next step – to make a purchase!
